Bally
Founded in the basement of their home in Switzerland in 1851 by Carl Franz Bally and his brother, Bally started as a producer of handmade shoes. 20 years after, they opened their first stores in Geneva and Montevideo. By the 1870s, Bally was recognised as a footwear industry leader. The company’s name was changed to CF Bally, then was changed again to CF Bally & Sons when Carl Bally handed the company reigns to his sons in 1892. Bally has then expanded worldwide, and also was one of the very first European luxury goods brands to open in China.
